Break The Bias
Imagine a world with gender equality. A world free of biases, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive. We all wish for a world like this. To make a world similar to this, all of us together need to unify and work for it.
Solh is taking the initiative to make a change and help in establishing equality in all spaces. We are hosting a webinar with leading women personalities who will be discussing Gender Equality and Mental Health on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
There is no doubt that gender inequality has a profound effect on mental health. All those people, struggling due to society’s conventional expectations, face strong rejections, humiliation, assault, and discrimination, becoming a victim of prejudices that subsequently takes a toll on their mental health. It results in tremendous psychological effects on their well-being like severe stress, depression, anxiety issues, and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). The societal notions of what defines masculinity and femininity dictate people to follow a set of trends, norms, and behaviors where women who refuse or resist falling in such categories get pushed away by society. Gender inequality has long-lasting consequences for women and other marginalized genders. Therefore, it is important to understand the intersection of gender inequality and mental health.
